How exciting! I’ve read the novel and taught it a few times. But it never felt tamed, at any level. Riding a bronco! You hold on for dear life. I agree with you Lori that the experience of the whole complex reading is enormous.
I will read along again. Henry Jame’s prose was a unique experience this time around. I am a little afraid of your description of Faulkner’s prose for this one, but why not jump in a literary adventure.
I think that you will like it, Valerie. And, I'm going to go a bit slower with the weekly page counts on this one. Plus, I will be joined by a Faulkner scholar and friend for frequent videos/podcasts on this one!

So happy that you are excited, Eileen!
The greatest novel of American failure. I taught it for decades and then wrote a sequel and a retelling of it.
When will the read-along take place?
We start October 6. Please join us, Natalie!
This is my favorite novel! I’ve read it several times and would love to tag along with this reading.
Please do! We kick-off October 6!!! Excited for your to join us!

This is exciting! I admittedly watched a YouTube video from Dr. Kevin Ohi, a professor discussing Henry James and his writing style.
James was like nothing I had read and this video was interesting:

Thanks for sharing this, Valerie. I will definitely give it a watch!
Though I did not interpret the ending of The Ambassadors the same way as this professor did, I found some of the video interesting on word structure.
